Pokémon GO Eevee Evolutions
Eight evolutions, one 25-candy button. The nickname trick guarantees each one once; after that you earn them with buddy walks, lures and the clock.
✏️The nickname trick
Rename Eevee to the name below before you evolve it and you get exactly that evolution, guaranteed. Each name works once per account — after that it does nothing and you fall back to the method on the card. Restart the app if the evolve button still shows a silhouette.
Random. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon share one evolution button — after the name trick it's pure chance which of the three you get.
Random, from the same three-way pool as Vaporeon and Flareon.
Random, from the same three-way pool — the one people get when they wanted Vaporeon.
Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy for two candy, then evolve it while it's still your buddy — during the day.
The same 10 km buddy walk and two candy, but evolve at night instead.
Evolve in range of a PokéStop with a Mossy Lure Module active. Works any time, and repeats as often as you have lures.
The same idea with a Glacial Lure Module in range.
Earn 70 buddy hearts with Eevee, then evolve it while it's your buddy. The slowest of the eight by a distance.
Every evolution costs 25 Eevee candy. Max CP is the level-50 ceiling from our imported game data.
🏆 Which is worth it
Umbreon earns its candy — the bulk behind a Great League staple. Espeon hits hardest of the eight, and Vaporeon's stamina still holds up in gyms years later.
💡 Save the trick
Spend the one-time names on Espeon, Umbreon and Sylveon — their buddy requirements are the slowest to repeat. The lure pair only costs you a lure.
🔍 Check IVs first
The name trick guarantees the species, not the spread. Run the Eevee through the IV calculator before you spend anything.
