What is Pokémon Champions?
- A standalone battle game with no story campaign: you build teams and fight other players. Think Pokémon Stadium, rebuilt for ranked online play.
- Replaces the mainline games at official Play! Pokémon events, including the World Championships.
- Bring Pokémon in from Pokémon HOME — only species already in Champions can be transferred.
- Battle in Ranked, Casual, or Private (friends) modes and climb with Victory Points across rotating seasons.
How the ruleset differs
- A curated pool of Pokémon, moves, and held items is legal — no Legendaries, Mythicals, Ultra Beasts, or Paradox Pokémon (Pikachu is a rare unevolved exception).
- Mega Evolution returns as a core mechanic via the Omni Ring — one Mega per battle, and it stays Mega for the rest of the match even after switching out.
- Move PP is standardized to fixed values (8 / 12 / 16 / 20).
- Some Pokémon have adjusted learnsets, and Mega Evolution includes forms introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
