Build together
Use Link Play at a Pokémon Center PC. Friends can join a shared island with its address and, if enabled, a Link Code. The owner does not need to be online. Turn off “Share with Others” when you want to pause visits.

What you do here
Create or join an island to build with friends, even when its owner is offline. Each island has a separate bag and a Pokédex shared by its visitors. Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play.
Get started with Cloud Islands
Choose an island to build on together or preview one without changing it.
- Unlock Link Play at a Pokémon Center PC after reaching environment level 2. Online play requires Nintendo Switch Online and an internet connection.
- At the PC, choose Link Play, then Play on a Cloud Island. Create an island or join one using its address and Link Code if the owner set one.
- When creating an island, choose whether others can build, whether Virtual Mode visitors can look around, and whether builders need a Link Code.

Preview in Virtual Mode
After reaching environment level 3, buy Mysterious goggles from the PC Shop. Use them from your bag and enter an island address to explore a view-only version. The owner must enable Virtual Mode for that island.
What stays on the island
- Your Cloud Island bag is separate from your town bag. Items do not travel between them.
- Each Cloud Island has its own Pokédex, shared by everyone who visits it. PC challenges and rewards are shared there too.
- You can create one Cloud Island at a time. You can change its sharing, Virtual Mode and Link Code settings later at the PC.
Save a backup before major changes
At the PC, open Link Play → Check Settings → Cloud Island Settings, then press R for the backup menu and select Save. Backups are manual and only one can be stored at a time. Restoring an existing backup is limited to once per day.
